Country people are famed for their hospitality; the country race track is, historically, the centre of rural social life. Warwick’s race club is one of the oldest in Queensland. Its Cup pre-dates the Melbourne Cup!
The Warwick Turf Club is typical of country race clubs, in that it is run by an enthusiastic volunteer committee whose members work hard to ensure the Club’s success. The Club is vibrant and successful and has one of the highest rates of race nominations in Queensland.
The Warwick Turf Club is situated on the river flats of the Condamine River on Victoria Street, Warwick. Warwick is located on the intersection of the Cunningham and New England Highways, 170km west south west of Brisbane, or 60km south of Toowoomba.
Dress up – it’s a good old Australian tradition to put on your glad rags for a day at the races. And at many of Warwick’s race meetings, there are prizes to be won for Fashions on the Field – men and women. It could be you!
