BIG NUMBERS FOR RACING THIS WEEKEND

Texas trainer Rod Hilton has nominated five horses for the Ergon Energy Race Day at Allman Park on Saturday. Nearly 100 nominations were received, including 29 in the Raheen Stud QTIS Maiden Plate for three year olds.  Nominations were extended by a day for races one and five prompting an increase to fields of 11 in each race.

Warwick trainer Mick O'Neill has two horses in the maiden plate. The Schwenke cousins, Garry (Warwick) and Lee (Texas), each have a horse in the maiden.

Ergon Energy General Manager Dave Heberlein said their Warwick staff members were looking forward to the races.

“We are pleased to contribute to an important social event for the community,” Dave Heberlein said.

The first race on Saturday is at 1.10pm, gates will be open from 11:30am with admission at $10 per person.  The Ergon Energy Race Day is supported by Rupert’s Bar & Grill, Ergon Energy, Raheen Stud, Southern Downs Regional Council and the Horse & Jockey Hotel/Motel.
